Dr. Amanda L. Krause is the Dean of the William L. Ridgway College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Evansville, where she leads with a deep commitment to student success, academic excellence, and civic engagement. A scholar of comparative political economy with a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Missouri, Dr. Krause has an extensive record of scholarship, including over 20 peer-reviewed conference papers, journal articles, and invited presentations. Her research focuses on social services and well-being in the Americas, reflecting her dedication to addressing pressing global challenges through rigorous inquiry.

Before joining UE, Dr. Krause served as Director of International Programs and Chair of the Department of Political Science at Mount St. Mary’s University, where she founded the innovative Philosophy, Politics, and Economics program and significantly expanded global learning opportunities, securing over $500,000 in funding to make these programs more accessible. Her teaching portfolio spans courses on comparative politics, economic thought, and welfare states, where she has consistently inspired students to think critically and live deliberately.

Dr. Krause’s dedication extends beyond the classroom and campus. She has volunteered with domestic and international NGOs, consulted for nonprofits to enhance data collection and grant-writing processes, and engaged in community service initiatives like mentoring young women to run for public office. Her work exemplifies the integration of scholarship, teaching, and service, embodying UE’s mission to empower individuals to act bravely, serve responsibly, and contribute meaningfully to society.
